Summer of Hope Series
Part 2: How to have a "Purposed-filled" Summer

(1 Peter 2:9) - But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Jeremiah 32:19 – 19 great are your purposes and mighty are your deeds. Your eyes are open to the ways of all mankind; you reward each person according to their conduct and as their deeds deserve.

Job 42:2 – “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.

For when you wonder if your life really counts…

“One person can make a difference.”

(Genesis 6:5-8) The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. So the LORD said, “I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth--men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air--for I am grieved that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE

· You can make a difference for your family.

(Genesis 7:1) The Lord then said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation.”

· You can make a difference for your generation.

(Acts 13:36) For when David had served God's purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep.

· You can make a difference for God.

(Ezekiel 22:30) I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none.

How to have a “Purpose-filled” Summer

1. “Don’t be afraid to stand out in a crowd.”

(Proverbs 29:25) Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.

2. “Don’t be afraid to do something for the first time.”

(Hebrews 11:7) By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.

3. Don’t be afraid of the future.

(Genesis 9:15-16) – I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”

The rainbow is still a reminder of Gods faithfulness
and that there is no storm that will take me out.

(2 Peter 3:6-9) By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men… The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
