When Jesus Moves

1. When Jesus directs, I will go

Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd. (Mark 6:45 CSB)
After he said good-bye to them, he went away to the mountain to pray. (Mark 6:46 CSB)

Question: Is there somewhere Jesus is asking you to go?

2. When Jesus is silent, I will trust

Well into the night, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and he was alone on the land. (Mark 6:47 CSB)
He saw them straining at the oars, because the wind was against them. (Mark 6:48a CSB)
Very early in the morning he came toward them walking on the sea and wanted to pass by them. (Mark 6:48b CSB)

Question: Is there an area of your life where God is calling you trust him?

3. When Jesus speaks, I will respond

When they saw him walking on the sea, they thought it was a ghost and cried out, because they all saw him and were terrified. (Mark 6:49-50a CSB)
Immediately he spoke with them and said, “Have courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” (Mark 6:50b CSB)
Then he got into the boat with them, and the wind ceased. (Mark 6:51a CSB)

God is with us:

Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9 CSB)
Even when I go through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for you are with me; your rod and your staff—they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4 CSB)
Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10 CSB)
Now this is what the Lord says— the one who created you, Jacob, and the one who formed you, Israel— “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you and the rivers will not overwhelm you, When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched and the flame will not burn you. (Isaiah 43:1-2 CSB)
I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.” (John 16:33 CSB)
Then he got into the boat with them, and the wind ceased. They were completely astounded, because they had not understood about the loaves. Instead, their hearts were hardened. (Mark 6:51-52 CSB)
