Mark 6:53 – “When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and moored to the shore.”

“Moored to the shore,” Gk. προσορμίζω (prosormizō), “came to shore or came to harbor”

Mark 6:54 – “And when they got out of the boat, the people immediately recognized him.”

Mark 6:54-55 – “And when they got out of the boat, the people immediately recognized him and ran about the whole region and began to bring the sick people on their beds to wherever they heard he was.”

Mark 15:39 – “And when the centurion, who stood facing him, saw that in this way he breathed his last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!”

Mark 6:56 – “And wherever he came, in villages, cities, or countryside, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and implored him that they might touch even the fringe of his garment. And as many as touched it were made well.”
“villages,” Gk. κώμη (kōmē), “a small, country town”
“cities,” Gk. πόλις (polis), Eng. metropolis, “walled cities”
“countryside,” Gk. ἀγρός (agros), Eng. agriculture, “a cultivated field”

“marketplaces,” Gk. ἀγορά (agora), Eng. agoraphobia, “a place of public concourse”
Deuteronomy 22:12 – “You shall make yourself tassels on the four corners of the garment with which you cover yourself.”

Numbers 15:38-41 – “Speak to the people of Israel and tell them to make tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a cord of blue on the tassel of each corner. 39 And it shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the LORD, to do them, not to follow after your own heart and your own eyes, which you are inclined to whore after. 40 So you shall remember and do all my commandments and be holy to your God. 41 I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God: I am the LORD your God.”

“healed,” Gk. σῴζω (sōzō), “healed or saved”
Two Takeaways:

1. Jesus offers real relief.

2. The help, hope, and healing ministry of Jesus demands our urgency.
