Home Group/Study Questions
These questions are provided for your further study and application of today’s sermon. Thoughtfully writing out the answers to these questions will help to drive home the truths we are learning.

1. Was there any passage of scripture or statement in the message today that was particularly meaningful or applicable to you?

2. Jesus starts by pointing out our spiritual poverty. Simply stated, we are all sinful enough to deserve God's wrath, and we have no capacity to fix the problem. Recognizing our need and asking for mercy requires abandoning our pride. Why is this so hard?

3. How does comparing ourselves with others become a stumbling block to mourning our sin? Read 2 Corinthians 7:10. Describe “godly grief” and its consequences.

4. Read Psalm 37:1-11. List (or circle) the imperatives in this passage. How do they describe “meekness?”

5. Read Philippians 3:8-10. In church it is possible to miss Jesus. We can find truths to help our lives to be better, places to serve that give us fulfillment, and a community that shares life with us, and still neglect Jesus. How do we keep our focus on Him?

Giving Online

Giving cheerfully and sacrificially of our finances is part of our worship. (2 Corinthians 9:7; Proverbs 3:9; Malachi 3:10) We thank those who have helped us fulfill our mission and vision, and we ask you to pray that all of the giving to West End Baptist Church would be used to glorify God in carrying out His will as Scripture instructs and the Holy Spirit leads.
