1. Why do you think the lost son ended up envying the pigs?

2. What was the lost son's biggest mistake?

3. Pastor Jon presented three ways of interpreting the reason for the son eating with the pigs. Which of these interpretations do you identify with the most? Why?

4. What character trait of the Father stands out to you the most? Why?

5. Both sons in this parable are lost, just in different ways. In what way(s) is the older son lost?

6. The parable ends with a celebration as the father welcomes back his lost son. What does this teach us about the importance of reconciliation and the joy that comes from forgiveness and restoration? How can we apply these lessons in our relationships with others?
