“Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.” – 1 Corinthians 13:13 (NLT)
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE HOPE IN GOD?
“Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again—” – Psalm 42:5 (NLT)
WE ARE ENCOURAGED AND WORSHIP HIM
“Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him.” – Psalm 62:5 (NLT)
WE ARE QUIET AND WAIT ON HIM
“I am counting on the Lord; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word.” – Psalm 130:5 (NLT)
WE DEPEND ON GOD AND BELIEVE IN HIM
“No, the Lord’s delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love.” – Psalm 147:11 (NLT)
WE FEAR GOD AND LOVE HIM
HOW CAN WE LIVE WITH HOPE?
1) LIVE OUT THE SALVATION OF JESUS
“So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world.” – 1 Peter 1:13 (NLT)
2) OBEY THE COMMANDS OF JESUS
“So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then.” – 1 Peter 1:14 (NLT)
3) BE HOLY LIKE THE NATURE OF JESUS
“But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, ‘You must be holy because I am holy.’” – 1 Peter 1:15-16 (NLT)
4) TRUST IN THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS
“Through Christ you have come to trust in God. And you have placed your faith and hope in God because he raised Christ from the dead and gave him great glory.” – 1 Peter 1:21 (NLT)
