It’s the 3rd week of our “Quick and Easy Steps for Following Jesus” series. This week, we are talking about our 3rd key element of faith; Crisis.

Read the words of Jesus to His Followers in John 16:33. Think about your own faith journey. When was a time you experienced trouble or a crisis in your faith? How did you handle it and how did Jesus reveal himself in the mess?

Read 2 Cor 12:9-10 and 2 Corinthians 1:8-10. How is "His Power made perfect in our weakness"? What does Paul mean when he says "On him we have set our hope"? How can you apply these scriptures in your own faith journey?

Pastor Jonathan said “Crisis is not in the way, but on the way”. It’s part of the journey. However, comparing ourselves with others gets us nowhere. How does comparing hinder our faith’s momentum forward?

Crisis is how our faith grows. There are recurring themes of this throughout scripture. Pastor Jonathan gave us 3 examples of how our faith can grow during crisis. What personal examples can you pull from that illustrate these 3 outcomes of a faith crisis?
Reveals: opens you up for growth
Refines: builds greater faith and character
Reshapes: molds us more into the image of Jesus

Read through John 16:33 again. Remember that on Him we have set our Hope. This is certainly not always easy, but our one and only Savior, Jesus is at work and He will make all things new. Spend some time in prayer with our Heavenly Father
