Respect Other People's Property

At the heart of the eighth commandment is the idea that we are to treat one another the way we want to be treated. God’s commandment to not steal from others is not only a good way to live, but it is also good for a civil society. In this commandment we will recognize that God doesn’t want us to take from others what belongs to them without permission, nor should we withhold from others any good that we might provide for their benefit. --- Many people are looking for a life of hope, freedom, and blessing. The law of God is often viewed as a list of do’s and don’ts, but it is actually God’s guide for us to experience a life of freedom filled with blessing. The ten commandments are not only God’s code of conduct for a moral life, but they help us see our need for Jesus and show us how we can live a life filled with hope.
