The Gospel of John was written so that others would know the truth that Jesus was fully human and fully God.

So. Who do we say he was?

The Bible says that, Jesus is the Word of God become flesh who dwelled among us.
The only son of God.
Full of grace and truth.
The Bible says, Jesus is the Word of God:
Who was with God in the beginning
Who is God
Through him all things were made
The Bible says that in Jesus was life and he was bringing life or light to all everyone.
Jesus was not John.
Jesus was the light, the life, of all mankind.
The one through whom all things were created, came to his creation—but is creation didn’t receive him.

To those who did receive him, he gave them a chance of new creation—to be born of God, a son and daughter.
The Bible says,

The word become flesh
The same one who was in the beginning, who created all things, came into his creation, and gave us new grace.
Jesus is God and in closest relationship with the father.
Jesus is God’s only son.
This is the grace we are given in place of the grace given to us under the law of Moses.

The law of Moses was given so that Israel could live in close proximity to the presence of God—so that he could dwell among a people who lived lives that were holy and set apart.

The grace given to us through Jesus is that through his blood, he made peace with us and God so that we can live in the presence of God and have the Holy Spirit not only dwell with us but in us. That is the grace given, that we have peace with God though humanity had done nothing to earn it.
Who do you believe Jesus is?

He is God and was with God in the beginning, through him all things were made, he came to his creation and we rejected him, but to those who received him he gave the right to become sons and daughters…Jesus, fully God and fully human, came and made a way for us to be in close relationship with God.

COMMUNION

We believe in an open communion, and would like to invite anyone who has professed faith in Jesus to participate with us this morning.

Communion elements will be made available at the close of service at the front of the room, please wait to come forward until we have prayed for communion.

The bread represents the body of Christ.
The juice/cup represents the blood of Christ.

BAPTISM

Are you ready to be baptized? In the Bible, when people come to faith in Christ, and they ask "what do I do now?" the answer is consistently baptism. In baptism, we identify with Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection as we lay down our lives in the water, and come to new life in Christ. If you believe Jesus is Lord and are ready to make that declaration in your life, sign up and we would love to baptize you.
