God Only Knows
Psalm 30

In this world we face trouble. The Psalmist gives insight to not only to face them, but to discover joy during them.

1.God knows our trouble
a.Trouble with enemies (Psalm 30:1)
b.Trouble with health (Psalm 30:2-3)
c.Trouble with pride (Psalm 30:6)
d.Trouble in turning from God (Psalm 30:7)

2.The Psalmist’s Response
a.Praise (Psalm 30:1)
b.Crying out for help (Psalm 30:2)
c.Singing (Psalm 30:4)
d.Sleep (Psalm 30:5)
e.Begging for mercy (Psalm 30:8-10)

3.What God knows, he will give his people.
a.Rescue (Psalm 30:1)
b.Restoration (Psalm 30:2)
c.Anger & Favor (Psalm 30:5)
d.Joy in the morning (Psalm 30:5)
e.Transform our mourning to joyful dancing and clothes us with joy (Psalm 30:11-12)

“Why do bad things happen to good people? That only happened once and He volunteered.” R.C. Sproul

Next Steps:
1.Acknowledge that only God knows
2.Humbly ask for God’s intervention
3.Praise God in the midst of the trouble

Verse of the Week: Psalm 30:11-12 You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. Lord my God, I will praise you forever.
