Series Overview
As the season of Lent is upon us, we begin our journey through the Gospel of Mark. We journey together as a church as we respond to Jesus’ call to discipleship in our lives. Mark begins with a call and challenges us to make ourselves ready for the call. “Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his ways.” Be present so that you can trust Jesus in your life, confess him as Lord and follow his ways and his teachings as a true disciple. We have this moment of opportunity now. Don’t let it slip away.

Sermon Overview
This Sunday we will celebrate Easter with our final reading of the resurrection story found in the book of Mark. Of all the books this gospel gives us the most provocative ending. The book ends with the women at the tomb too afraid and emotional to share the good news of Jesus’ empty tomb. They didn’t understand what was happening and they made some wrong decisions. They were deciding on the spot to keep their mouths shut about the greatest news ever witnessed, the resurrection of Jesus. We often misunderstand what we are seeing, and we assume our assumptions are always correct. We will further explore how we can learn to trust God more and our assumptions less.
