The Attributes of God
Pastor Jerry Koller
The greatest thing God can give us is Himself.
God gives the breath of life to those created in His image.
Every day we live is a gift from God.
An essential element of a relationship is giving.
· What is given and how it is given will vary from relationship to relationship.
· God chose to have a relationship with those of His choosing.
· God knew that at some point in man’s existence, he would sin.
· Because sin is an afront to all God is, it would sever the relationship man
If God knew man would sin and fall short of His desire for them, why didn’t God create man to never be able to sin?
· Only God is sinless.
· Only He is perfectly holy.
· Only He is perfectly righteous.
· If God could create man to be sinless, man would also be God.
· Man could never be God because man is a created being.
God the Father gave the Son to pay the wages of our sin by shedding His blood, dying on the cross, and raising from the dead.
Redemption is one plan of One God which is carried out by all three persons—Father, Son, and Spirit.
As the Father gave the Son, the Son gave Himself.
God give grace.
· Grace is a gift from God.
· Faith is a gift from God.
Both are something He gives because God is a God who gives.
To those who call upon the name of the Lord, God gives eternal life.
· Eternal here means time without end.
· It does not mean no beginning or no end as it pertains to God.
God gives hope.
Biblical hope is something that will come true because it is a strong and confident expectation.
God gives encouragement, hope, and strength for every good deed.
Until Jesus returns, God gives us encouragement, hope, and strength. He finishes what He has started.
God gives us everything we need to live for His glory.
God made provision for us to live for His glory by giving us the Holy Spirit.
Let us give praise to God like the Apostle Paul did

Happy Birthday!

Love Offering

We have received a request to help a church family member with a special situation as they pursue hiring a lawyer regarding custody issues for their child. There is reason to believe that the non-custodial parent, who is grossly behind on child support, is placing the child in danger due to substance abuse. The lawyer fee is $3500. If 35 people are able to donate $100, this need would be met. If you feel compelled to help, please make your payment to FBC with the note of "Love Offering: Lawyer" in the memo. Thank you!

Bible Study Resumes 4/18

You are invited to join our Bible study group on Thursday mornings from 9:30-11:30am in the Conference Room. We will begin the LifeChange Bible Study on Ecclesiastes. “Ecclesiastes is sometimes perceived as one of the most difficult books in Scripture but it's also one of the most rewarding. Launching you on an 8-week journey, this in-depth study addresses the quest for meaning, presence of evil, wisdom and foolishness, and other issues to help you understand God's ways in an often confusing and frustrating world. “ Books are $9 each. To sign-up, stop by the Welcome Center or contact Vasha Ferguson or Tina Wilburn.

Hearing Assistance Devices Now Available

We have purchased a few devices to help individuals with a hearing deficit to listen to the morning worship service better. The devices allow the user to control the volume based on their individual needs. They are available from the Sound Booth at the rear of the sanctuary and are cleaned and sanitized after each use. For questions, see Rocky Starland.

Did you know that if your bank offers online services, you can set your tithe up as a regular ‘bill payment’ through your bank? This is a convenient option to help with continuity in giving and the ability for you to tithe even when you are on vacation or miss church. It eliminates having to wonder if you turned in your offering while you were gone! If you have questions or would like more information about how to utilize this convenient option, check with your banking institution or contact the church office.

Pray that the treatments start working and she is able to get that under control so that she can move forward with the Lyme treatment within the next few months.
· Caroline Bocock is doing much better! She passed her concussion test after a year of failing and has been approved to do anything she wishes. She will have more Lyme testing later this month, but the symptoms have almost completely disappeared since her treatment in July. Pray for continued improvements and for clear test results so she doesn’t have to do anymore treatments.
