STOP ACTING LIKE YOU’RE A VICTIM

Romans 8:15 (NLT)
So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”

There are two types of believers:

a. those who still have fears/anxieties

b. those who have receded the Spirit

Romans 8:16 (NLT)
For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.

Even though God has set you free, many believers still relapse into their old ways.

Colossians 2:15 (KJV)
And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

The Bible teaches that these forces band together to commit acts of aggression against the saints.

Colossians 2:16 (KJV)
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

Notice the jump in context.

a. it reveals how these forces work

THEY JUDGE YOU!

But because of the resurrection these forces are already defeated.

a. so they have to seek out victims
Prov. 23:7 - as a man thinketh

Victims have three outlooks on life:

1)Bad things happen and will keep happening.

2)Other people or circumstances are to blame.

3)Any efforts to change will fail, so there’s no point in trying.

2 Tim. 2:25 - some oppose selves

A victim mentality is a blessing blocker.

How can you tell you have NOT been set totally free?

1)Avoiding responsibility - you refuse to get involved in life

2)Lack of accountability - you protect yourself because you can’t trust God

3)Place blame elsewhere - everyone is out to get you

4)Making excuses - reveals a lack of faith

5)Reacting with “It’s not my fault” - reveals low self esteem.

6)Feeling powerless - self deception, you have Holy Ghost power

7)Negative self talk/sabotage - you believe your feelings more than God’s Word

8)Frustration, anger resentment - no joy of the Holy Ghost

What is the spiritual root causes:

1) Past trauma

2) Betrayal

3) You have Codependency

4) You were manipulated

5) Abuse

3 John 1:2 (KJV)
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Part of being in health is soul prosperity.

A victim mentality / soul prosperity:

a.effects your prosperity - your ability to get blessed

b. because your at a stand still

c. and your health

d.because you leave an open door for the enemy

What you are feeling is real, but it is NOT the truth.

Matthew 3:10 (KJV)
And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

There is a remedy...Holy Ghost fire!

Romans 8:31 (MSG)
So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose?

So it’s decision time:

a. continue to play the victim

b. or choose to be victorious

Jesus won the battle for you already.

Romans 8:32 (MSG)
If God didn't hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn't gladly and freely do for us?

God embraces you as you are;

a.but He doesn’t want to leave you where your at

b. that’s why Jesus came

Romans 8:33 (NLT)
Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself.

God has already made up His mind about you.

It’s time to stop being a victim.

Romans 8:34 (NLT)
Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.

Because Jesus took your place, the enemy can no longer condemn you.

ALTAR CALL: HEAVENLY FATHER,

I thank You for the victory You obtained for me when Jesus invaded hell and broke all evil powers over me.

Because of this tremendous love for me, You set me free! Thank You for cleansing me with Your blood and granting me the honor to be called a child of God and a joint heir with You.

In Jesus’ name! Amen !
