“This is my Son” - this alludes to Psalm 2:7 where these same words appear, describing the future King from David’s line.
“With whom I am well pleased” - This alludes to Isaiah 42:1 where God introduces His Servant “in whom my soul delights.” This is the same Suffering Servant of Isaiah 53 who’d bear the sins of God’s people.
“Beloved” is a reference to Gen. 22:2. This is the first verse where the word “love” appears. God tells Abraham: “Take your only son Isaac, whom you love (beloved), and offer Him as a sacrifice.”

Want to be Baptized?
Baptism is a picture of how our acceptance of Christ as our Savior has caused us to take on His characteristics. We are “buried” with him in baptism, and “raised” to a new life in Him. Down with the old…up with the new.
