2 Timothy 2:15, Be diligent to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who doesn’t need to be ashamed, correctly teaching the word of truth.
Matthew 4:4,“It is written: Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
Psalm 1-3, How happy is the one who does not walk in the advice of the wicked or stand in the pathway with sinners or sit in the company of mockers! 2 Instead, his delight is in the Lord’s instruction, and he meditates on it day and night.3 He is like a tree planted beside flowing streams that bears its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
Make It a Daily Habit
Acts 17:11, The people here were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, since they received the word with eagerness and examined the Scriptures
Mark 1:35, Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he got up, went out, and made his way to a deserted place; and there he was praying.
Ask God for Wisdom
John 14:26, But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have told you.
1 Cor. 2:10-12 Now God has revealed these things to us by the Spirit, since the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except his spirit within him? In the same way, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who comes from God, so that we may understand what has been freely given to us by God.
James 1:5, Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God—who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly—and it will be given to him.
Colossians 1:9 & 10 - For this reason also, since the day we heard this, we haven’t stopped praying for you. We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God…”
Submit to What You Learn
Matthew 13:19-23, When anyone hears the word about the kingdom and doesn’t understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the one sown along the path. 20 And the one sown on rocky ground—this is one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy. 21 But he has no root and is short-lived. When distress or persecution comes because of the word, immediately he falls away. 22 Now the one sown among the thorns—this is one who hears the word, but the worries of this age and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 23 But the one sown on the good ground—this is one who hears and understands the word, who does produce fruit and yields: some a hundred, some sixty, some thirty times what was sown.
James 1:22, But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
Study the Bible with Others
Rom. 10:14-17, How, then, can they call on him they have not believed in? And how can they believe without hearing about him? And how can they hear without a preacher? 15 And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news. 16 But not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, Lord, who has believed our message? 17 So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.
1 Timothy 4:13 “Until I come, give your attention to public reading, exhortation, and teaching.”
