the MOST IMPORTANT DISCIPLINE for producing SPIRITUAL
GROWTH in people is BIBLE ENGAGEMENT.
GROWTH in people is BIBLE ENGAGEMENT.
The word ENGAGE means, “To participate in and become deeply involved with someone or something.”
Charles Spurgeon said, “Visit many good books, but live in the Bible.”
The way to MOVE FORWARD in your Faith in 2024 is to move from BIBLE READING to BIBLE STUDY.
If we’re not ENGAGING the Bible regularly we’re not getting input from Jesus in our life, which means we’re living without His counsel, which is DANGEROUS.
1. KNOW THE WORD, NOT KNOW ABOUT IT
What you DON’T KNOW ABOUT THE BIBLE CAN AND WILL HURT YOU!
The way to get to KNOW the Bible is to spend time LIVING IN IT.
If you want your Faith to MOVE FORWARD in 2024, you need to spend more time STUDYING the Bible so you can KNOW THE BIBLE.
2.CONNECT WITH THE AUTHOR
Theologian and Author Scot McKnight said, “The aim of Bible Engagement is to KNOW and CONNECT with the God of the Bible.
The goal of Bible Engagement is to CONNECT with the Author of the Bible, Jesus!
3. PUT YOURSELF IN THE STORY
Let the Bible READ YOU as you interact with it!
4. LEARN HOW TO INTERPRET AND APPLY THE WORLD
The First Response is those who get CONFUSED when they read their Bible.
The Second Response is those who choose to IGNORE THE BIBLE.
The Third Response is people who fully understand what the Bible is saying to them, but they CHOOSE NOT TO APPLY it to their lives.
The Fourth Response is those who put in the effort to Understand and Apply the Bible to their lives.
For the Bible to be effective and produce fruit in our lives WE NEED
