Preparation Question: Would you consider yourself a generous person?

The first of three statements which encourage us to reflect on our own generosity and integrity.

1. Christians are called to have a spirit of cheerful generosity because our brothers and sisters have real needs; and it can really make the world want to be included. (4:32-37)
- This is not a proof text for Socialism.

- Part of Christian honesty is Christian generosity.

- Christian generosity is a demonstration and expectation of our faith.

- Christian generosity to other believers is a form of evangelism to the world.

- This message is not an excuse for greediness, selfishness, or a cold shoulder to the world.

Response Questions
1. How do we interpret and apply Acts 4:32-37 where we read that believers were selling their possessions and property to provide for one another. Is this a proof text for Socialism?
2. How is our generosity to other believers a demonstration of our faith in the Lord and a form of evangelism to the world?
3. How might God be leading you to exercise your faith and practice evangelism through generosity?
