Attributes of God
Eternal - Infinite - Omnipresent - Immaterial
Pastor Jerry Koller
· An attribute of God is whatever God has in any way revealed as being true of Himself.
· Characteristics are features or qualities of someone or something. They can, and do, change.
God’s attributes are:
· Inherent
· Unchanging
· Eternal
God’s attributes are always in perfect balance.
We cannot project our understanding of human characteristics upon Almighty God’s attributes.
There is no order to God’s attributes.
· One attribute does not build upon another.
The attribute of God called Eternal.
Eternal means “having no beginning or end.”
Everything in creation that exists must have these three elements: time, space, and matter.
· All three of these elements have a beginning and their beginnings are attributed to the creative workings of Almighty God.
In order for someone to bring creation into existence, that person had to already exist. He would have to be “infinite.”
· Finite refers to everything that is governed or limited by time, space, and matter.
· It means having limits or bounds.
God is eternal. God is infinite. Both are attributes of God.
God could create time because He Himself is timeless.
· God clearly acts within time, but His existence cannot be limited by it.
· God views time as a whole.
· God alone views time as a whole because He is transcendent.
Space is the boundary in which something is located.
· Everything in creation occupies space.
· God is not bound by or limited by space because He is omnipresent.
· Omni is a prefix that means “all, every, or the whole.”
· God’s presence is unrestricted.
God is not bound by, or limited to, matter.
· Because He existed before matter was created, we conclude that God is matter-less—or better—"immaterial.”
· God is spirit.
· God cannot be reduced to the material.
· God is also not some force or energy.
A definition of God’s spirituality: God’s spirituality means that God exists as a being that is not made of any matter, has no parts or dimensions, is unable to be perceived by our bodily senses, and is more excellent than any other kind of existence.

Inclement Weather

If we need to cancel church activities, we will communicate closures via email, text, phone, and on our Facebook page. Information may also be communicated on tv through WWMT (channel 3), WoodTV (channel 8), and Fox 17 (channel 17), but the other methods will be our first priority. If you are not receiving communication in one of these ways, please contact the church office.

Attention Members: Annual Meeting Information

The 2024 budget proposal and explanation have been sent to members via email in a PDF format. If you would like to have a paper copy, please contact the church office. In addition to voting on the budget and the 2024 Elder Ministry Team candidates, Alyssa Newell will be presented as a proposed candidate for the Elder Ministry Team. Elder Ministry Team members willing to serve for 2024 will be Jason Avery, Patty Bales, Brian Bocock, Dan Marshall, and Alyssa Newell (if approved). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the church office.

Alyssa Newell (daughter of Dean and Linda Newell) grew up attending First Baptist Church. She came to Christ at four years old and has been active in church programs and events since. Alyssa has served in the Children’s Church program since 2006, first as a junior leader and now leads it. She graduated in 2013 from Grace Christian School and attended Grace Christian University and Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in early childhood and Elementary Education in 2019. She currently teaches kindergarten at Grace Christian School. She shares an apartment with her sister, Julie, and their cat Ginger, and enjoys reading and spending time with family. Alyssa looks forward to the opportunity to continue to serve the church on the Elder Ministry Team.

Because the meeting is expected to be short, we will not have a potluck afterwards.

Have You Considered?

Did you know that if your bank offers online services, you can set your tithe up as a regular ‘bill payment’ through your bank? This is a convenient option to help with continuity in giving and the ability for you to tithe even when you are on vacation or miss church. It eliminates having to wonder if you turned in your offering while you were gone! If you have questions or would like more information about how to utilize this convenient option, check with your banking institution or contact the church office.

Pop Cans = Scholarships

Don’t forget that your beverage can & bottle donations are used to fund teen scholarships for youth retreats, summer camps, special activities, etc. Please bring your recyclable items to the church anytime!
