Why is the Church Important?
Matthew 16:13-20
Jesus is the Messiah.
Only God can make the identity of Jesus clear to a person’s mind.
Peter = Petros = single rock
Petra = Rock = bedrock or a rock quarry
“I will build My Church” - Ekklesia
Ekklesia means “a gathering or an assembly of people
The church Is the community of all true believers for all time.
Ephesians 2:19-22
1 Peter 2:4-6
Jesus builds His Church.
Jesus is the center and owner of His community of followers.
Acts 2:47
The church is invisible, yet visible.
“The invisible church is the church as God sees it.”
You can’t love Jesus and not love His church.
"The Church is not a place where we go, it’s a family where we belong."
Application:
1. Regularly attend church, become a part of the family of God.
Hebrews 10:25
2. Invite those you know to come to be a part of our church family.
3. Generously support the church with your time, talent and treasure.
