Conversation Starters
Conversation Starters help us dig deeper, connecting Sunday’s sermons with our Monday lives. Please know that these questions are meant to be a resource. You do not have to follow them verbatim or get through them all. We trust you to know your group and to ask the questions based on your group needs.

1. Read Romans 5:12–14.

2. What stood out to you from the passage?

3. What stood out to you from the sermon?

4. Consider the effects of sin and death in our current world. What are some of the impacts of this on a personal and community level? What does it look like to have hope in the Coming One in the midst of this sin and death?

5. How will you apply this to your life? What are you going to do, be, or think differently because of this truth?

Prayer Requests

As a staff it is a privilege to pray for our congregation. Social distance does not change that! If you are in need of prayer click the link to fill out an online prayer request.

Title: The Representative Who Wrecked It All
Scripture: Romans 5:12-14
Speaker: Gabe Coyle, GabeC@cckc.church
> Where do our frustrations come from?
> With Jesus we can see the real world from the outside.
#1 Our frustration is NOT from human development, but sin’s colonization.
#2 Our frustration is NOT only from individual mistakes, but also social contamination.
“But, we may ask, why should the sin of one single man lead to the death of all people? How can a just God punish everyone for one man's sin? The answer is that we are all "in Adam", that is, of Adam's race, and have all inherited an inability not to sin. Sin is now in our blood. God condemns us because we have all sinned? Henri Blocher sums it up like this: "because of Adam's sin, we are punished for our own sins".” (Solomon Andria, Romans Africa Bible Commentary Series)
#1 Our frustration is NOT from human development, but sin’s colonization.
#2 Our frustration is NOT only from individual mistakes, but also social contamination.
#3 Our frustration is NOT a natural step, but a distorted outcome.
> So what can we do in the world to end our frustration?
Answer: Nothing.
> Let Jesus Take You into His World.
> When we see the world from the outside, we experience it differently on the inside.
#1 Sympathy for the world.
#2 Humility in the world.
#3 Patience with the world.
