October 22, 2023 / The Holy Spirit / What's He Calling Me To Do?
This is a brand-new series about something that’s not-at-all-brand-new! But when He makes someone brand new – it’s so amazing to watch and be apart of! He’s the HOLY SPIRIT. He’s been there from the beginning, and He’ll be there ‘til the end. He invades hearts and changes lives. He speaks to us, and about us – and even for us when we don’t know what to speak. He holds so many titles and yet He’s the least talked about, preached on and thought about person of the Trinity. Not anymore.

1. IF MY HELPER TESTIFIES TO THE TRUTH, I’M CALLED TO DO IT TOO.
John 15:27-26...
27 And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning. 26 “But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth, who proceeds from the Father, He will bear witness about Me.
John 15:27-26...
27 And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning. 26 “But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth, who proceeds from the Father, He will bear witness about Me.
2. IF MY JESUS WAS PERSECUTED FOR THE TRUTH, I MAY BE TOO
John 15:25-18...
25 But the word that is written in their Law must be fulfilled: ‘They hated Me without a cause.’ 24 If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin, but now they have seen and hated both Me and My Father. 23 Whoever hates Me hates My Father also. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have been guilty of sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. 21 But all these things they will do to you on account of My name, because they do not know Him who sent Me. 20 Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will also keep yours.
19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 18 “If the world hates you, know that it has hated Me before it hated you.

“It is not so important how the apostles died. What is important is the fact that they were all willing to die for their faith. If Jesus had not been resurrected, the disciples would have known it. People will not die for something they know to be a lie. The fact that all of the apostles were willing to die horrible deaths, refusing to renounce their faith in Christ, is tremendous evidence that they had truly witnessed the resurrection of Jesus Christ.” - GotQuestions.org
Luke 6:20-23...
20 And He lifted up His eyes on His disciples, and said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. 21 “Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied. “Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh. 22 “Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man!
23 Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets.

3. IF MY JESUS LOVED THE ONES WHO WOULD PERSECUTE HIM, I SHOULD TOO.
John 15:17-12...
17 These things I command you, so that you will love one another. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He may give it to you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. 12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

Galatians 5:22...
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness
LOVE -
John 13:35...
“By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
GOODNESS -
Romans 8:28...
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
FAITHFULNESS -
Romans 1:16-18...
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”

4. IF MY JESUS HAD JOY IN SUFFERING – I CAN TOO.
John 15:11...
These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.
John 15:11...
These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.
Romans 5:1...
1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Through Him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,
4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
