What Motivates Our Giving?
We Trust God
2 Cor. 8:1-5, We want you to know, brothers and sisters, about the grace of God that was given to the churches of Macedonia: 2 During a severe trial brought about by affliction, their abundant joy and their extreme poverty overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part. 3 I can testify that, according to their ability and even beyond their ability, of their own accord, 4 they begged us earnestly for the privilege of sharing in the ministry to the saints, 5 and not just as we had hoped. Instead, they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us by God’s will.
We Love God’s Church

Giving Will be My First Priority
How Should I Give?
1 Cor. 16:2, On the first day of the week, each of you is to set something aside and save in keeping with how he is prospering…
Prov. 3:9, Honor the Lord with your possessions
and with the first produce of your entire harvest;
Prov. 3:10, then your barns will be completely filled, and your vats will overflow with new wine.
I Will be a Generous Giver
1 Tim. 6:17-19, Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be arrogant or to set their hope on the uncertainty of wealth, but on God,[a] who richly provides us with all things to enjoy. 18 Instruct them to do what is good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and willing to share, 19 storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of what is truly life.
2 Corinthians 9:11 You will be enriched in every way for all generosity, which produces thanksgiving to God through us.
I will be a Joyous Giver
2 Cor. 9:7, Each person should do as he has decided in his heart—not reluctantly or out of compulsion, since God loves a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 8:1-2, “1We want you to know, brothers and sisters, about the grace of God that was given to the churches of Macedonia: 2 During a severe trial brought about by affliction, their abundant joy and their extreme poverty overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part.
