Join us as we glance back into the Old Testament for some ancient stories that hold some timeless truth, principles, and practical insights for us in our apprenticeship after Jesus and God's best for us. We're looking into a few characters from the Old Testament to discover that these aren't just stories from long ago -- they hold ancient truths for us in our spiritual journey today. The Book of Jonah Gives Us Two Questions to Answer:
1. Are you OK with God loving your enemies?
2. Aren’t you GLAD that God loves HIS enemies?

Jesus's Answer to Jonah's Question:
HOW CAN GOD BE BOTH JUST AND MERCIFUL?
- Through Christ dying on the cross for the sins of man, God can demonstrate how he is perfectly just and perfectly merciful.
- The one place that question gets answered is the cross of Christ -- where God had complete justice toward humanity’s sin, and where God had complete mercy toward humanity.
HOW CAN GOD BE BOTH JUST AND MERCIFUL?
- Through Christ dying on the cross for the sins of man, God can demonstrate how he is perfectly just and perfectly merciful.
- The one place that question gets answered is the cross of Christ -- where God had complete justice toward humanity’s sin, and where God had complete mercy toward humanity.
