“Babylon Has Fallen”

Revelation was written to help DISSIDENT DISCIPLES DISCERN the presence of Babylon in our world and in our lives so that we can RESIST its CORRUPTING influence.

7 Characteristics of Babylon we need to be watching for in our world, lives, and Churches.

in Johns’ Day being Anti-God did not refer to a lack of belief in God, it meant rebelling against the true God to Serve Idols.

Today, Babylon declares that there is NO god and stands against worship of the true god and has replaced Jesus with man made idols and philosophies.

Anything that is more important in your life than Jesus is an idol.

What is it saying when millions of Christians no longer prioritize being in Church on the Lord’s Day?

Many Christians today are worshipping a god of their own making!

Do your fleshly desires have more control over you than the Spirit?

The Pax Romana or Period of Peace in the Roman Empire was one of the factors that made it “the right time” for Jesus to be born and complete his mission.

There was Peace in Rome…but it came with a HUGE PRICE TAG.

The Early Christians were NOT persecuted and killed because of WHAT THEY BELIEVED…they were persecuted and killed because their ALLEGIANCE WAS TO JESUS INSTEAD OF ROME.

As Believers we cannot cower to the Fear, Terror, Intimidation, and Propaganda of Babylon. We must take a stand, but it will cost us!

We have created a rock star culture in the Church today among Pastors and Worship Leaders. Is it any wonder they’re falling left and right!

They work hard TO SAY AND DO THE RIGHT THINGS to maintain their IMAGE so they are ACCEPTED by the masses.

If we’re honest, our IMAGE is often more important to us than the truth.

Many Churches and believers are ALL IMAGE and NO SUBSTANCE!

Babylon uses Military Force and Might to get its way.

Jesus never used FORCE or MIGHT to accomplish His purposes. He used LOVE and THE WORD.

Using the ways of the Dragon will not BUILD the Kingdom of God and transform lives, it will destroy the WITNESS of the Kingdom and drive people away from Jesus.

Exploitation is “The act of unfairly, abusing, taking advantage of, enslaving, manipulating, or oppressing someone in order to benefit from their work.”

Rome was filled with rampant consumerism and a never-ending appetite for the excessive indulgence of goods and material things that were produced on the backs of the poor.

As believers we must make sure that our business practices and church practices are not exploiting and using people under the guise of advancing the Kingdom.

In Revelation John shows us how Rome’s Arrogance was in direct opposition to the WAY of The Lamb and tells us we’re supposed to live our lives as humble servants of the King.

Takeaway #1: We must DISCERN the characteristics and ways of Babylon in our own lives and Churches and REMOVE THEM.

Takeaway #2: As Dissident Disciples Jesus calls US to stand against the WAYS of Babylon that are impacting our ruining our culture and hurting people.

We are called to be TRANSFORMATIVE WITNESSES that CHANGE the culture not ESCAPE it.

Jesus the King was calling them and is calling US to be LIGHTS in the darkness.
