Learning The Hard Way: Don't Learn the Hard Way!
We begin a new series about the Exodus, from Moses' call at the burning bush until he intercedes for Israel after they worship the golden calf. These passages teach us about God and how to be God's people. They also point to Jesus, the Savior who delivers us from sin and death.

The Bible is _____, _______. Those who left Egypt under Moses are ________. This _______ is ________. Their ___________________ is our _________. The Exodus generation ________________, so that, hopefully, _________.
Paul wrote this passage because Christians in Corinth ____________. Paul argued: The Corinthians were __________. If the result ___________, why should the Corinthians _______________?
How Paul’s argument helps us: We too can look to the Exodus generation to ________ and to help us _________.
The application of today’s scripture reading for us is:
Do not _____! Do not ____________.
On one hand, God wants us to ________.
On the other, we dare not ___________.
Questions to ponder and discuss:
1. Do you find the story of the Exodus encouraging or strange and troubling? In other words, do you feel at home in the story of the Exodus? 2. What is your favorite part of the Exodus story (the burning bush, the plagues, crossing the Red Sea, the covenant at Mt. Sinai, etc.)? Why?
