We begin our prayers with praise because Jesus instructed that prayer begins with who God is, where He is, and with an active longing that our kingdoms become more like His.

Confession
Confession is a movement of obedience to God. We remember that there is no salvation but in Jesus, and that our hope for a flourishing life includes learning to confess and repent - to God and to neighbor. Therefore we confess with joy - knowing the mercy and grace of Jesus is ours. Knowing that He forgives us and trains us up into lives of life.
Unison Confession
God of everlasting love, we confess that we have been unfaithful to our covenant with you and with one another.
We have worshiped other gods: money, power, greed, and convenience.
We have served our own self-interest instead of serving only you and your people.
We have not loved our neighbor as you have commanded, nor have we rightly loved ourselves.
Forgive us, gracious God, and bring us back into the fullness of our covenant with you and one another.
Through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

The Affirmation of Faith
The Apostle’s Creed is a 2nd century description of Christianity, largely focused on the work of Jesus Christ. We use it as a form of worship and a reminder of all that went into the purchasing of our salvation and joy as followers of Him. We do the Apostle’s Creed in three parts.
Friends, what do we profess about God the Good Father?
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth;
What do we gladly proclaim about Jesus of Nazareth?
and in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

God Sends Us

Children going into Pre-K4 through sixth grade will join us outside for the first part of the worship service and then right before the sermon we will move inside to Celebration Hall for Children's worship. We will sing worship songs with motions, pray together, read scripture together, and listen to a short children's sermon from one of our church's amazing leaders or teachers. The nursery in Room 7 will be open for the entire service for children 3 and under.
