Belteshazzar - "The Lion's Den", Wk. 4
A study of how Daniel stood up for his faith in a heathen culture while the Israelites were in captivity under the rule of Nebuchadnezzar. Will include Daniel’s favor with the king, then the king’s anger toward him, the fiery furnace, the lion’s den, and how Daniel expressed his faith in those situations. No compromise!

Last Week's Take Aways:
Take Away: We can be a witness even to those who are resistant to the things of God. They may not immediately embrace God, but over time they may. It’s our role to provide a witness to them by the way we consistently live our lives.
Take Away: To acknowledge the sovereignty of God brings a type of favor. We see that contrast between King Nebuchadnezzar and King Belshazzar. When we stand up for the things of God, people’s hearts may not change, but God will be honored nonetheless.

A. Daniel the Man of Integrity
Take Away: God calls us to a standard of integrity in all aspects of our life, not just some. When we do this it may cause some to be jealous or even try to trick us into compromise, but we must stand our ground to maintain God’s standard in our life.
B. Jealousy and Trickery
Take Away: As Christ followers we don’t have to exhaust ourselves trying to do things in our own strength. We can turn to God first and He will always hear us. He always knows our need.
C. The Lions Will Have to Wait
Take Away: As Christ followers, everything we do and say is a reflection of our devotion to Jesus. It is a witness to the presence of God in our lives. It has the power to change hearts.
