How to Tell Your Story
Week 2
How to Tell Your Story
Jesus principally spoke Aramaic, the ancient Semitic language which was the everyday language of the people.
“The Jews have always had stories for the rest of us - they have had their Bible, a great a work of the spirit. Yet they have been victims of horrific racism and terror. Nevertheless, they have held on to the story of their purpose, survival and triumphant from their beginning to the 2000s, amidst uncomprehend-able hostility.” - Andrew Marr
We are the story we tell about ourselves.
Our personal story is our voice and not an echo of another.
Tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been.
We are going to look at 3 steps to sharing a story from our life.
1. Selecting a Meaningful Story Moment
Begin with moments in your life that really shifted you in some way.
2. Developing a Story Moment
Boil your story down to one sentence that helps focus what it's really about.
Remember that in any great story you're not just sharing events that happened, you're also sharing the THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS running through you during those events.
3. Understanding the Impact and Change from Your Story
Remember there's the 'you' we met in the beginning and the changed 'you', brings the impact.
We have good stuff to share along the way.
We tell stories because we have reached a place in our journey that reveals we are in a different place than where we began.
Through the loss of my father, my heart was opened to understand God’s adoption plan for His children.

We are grafted into HIS Story – we are the branch that is being placed IN him.
