What is God calling you to do? Where? When? Who?

A Simple Prayer
Heavenly father, it is in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and because of his shed blood on the cross and his triumph over spiritual powers and authorities that I take my stand in his authority through prayer, against the schemes of the evil one that are against myself, my family, my church, my community. I pray that you would strengthen every heart and help us as a church to have a deeper faith and submission to your Lordship Jesus. May the words of our faith journey, our testimony of who Jesus is to us, be rooted in our hearts and spoken of freely, that we might truly be over comers. May faith rise up in us. Give us victory, I pray! Forgive us, Father, for the ways that we act as if we are victims of sin. Destroy the excuses that we make for thoughts, words and actions that are contrary to your word. Wake us up from our slumber. May we put aside all deeds of darkness, taking authority in Jesus mighty name, and put on the armor of light. May we be clothed in Christ.

Lord Jesus, I thank you for resurrection power that is available to your church because of your finish work on the cross and your victory over death and the grave. Thank you for the forgiveness of sins, for disarming the powers of darkness and triumphing over them by the cross. You are head over every power and authority, with all things under your feet. This day, father I asked for greater understanding of the truth that I share in the authority of Christ and that I’ve been given all fullness in him and through him. I ask for myself Lord, for my brothers and sisters in Christ at OCCA and your church around the world. By the presence of the Holy Spirit in us, may we move from merely pronouncing this truth with our mouth to a deep heartfelt belief that defines the way we live. Open our eyes once again that we might be aware that the enemy of our souls is always on the prowl, looking for opportunity to destroy your work among us and in us. Remind us that Christ in us is greater than the enemy of our souls. I ask for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit that would open our spiritual eyes to see the real battle not only within ourselves between the flesh and the spirit but with the real enemy. Open our eyes to see how full and complete are your blessings for us are in Christ Jesus. May we turn from fear and timidity and be strong in you and in your mighty power.

I acknowledge, father, that the battles that we face as your church are not against what we can see, but against what is unseen in the heavenly places. This day, through prayer, I raise the banner of Jesus over my church and community. I ask that all strongholds, arguments and everything at work among us – all that sets itself up against your people truly knowing you, O God, be demolished. Strengthen us to stand firm in our faith. In prayer, I prepare the way for your people, O God. May we not resist your leading in the way that we should go. May the pathways into our hearts be broadened and made smooth by the Holy Spirit. Remove all obstacles from our lives – rebuild us in all things and in every way where we have allowed the condition of our hearts and therefore your church to fall into disrepair – Holy Spirit speak to me about those areas even right now and give me your direction and your power to move. Lord Jesus as you have promised, build your church and may the gates of hell not prevail against us – for we are yours. Remind us that the victory is ours through Jesus and that are true struggle is not against what we can see but against the enemy of our souls. I ask these things in the authority of the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ who rules over all. Amen and amen
