Chorus
O victory in Jesus
My Savior forever
He sought me and bought me
With His redeeming blood
He loved me ere I knew Him
And all my love is due Him
He plunged me to victory
Beneath the cleansing flood

Verse 1
I heard an old old story
How a Savior came from glory
How He gave His life on Calvary
To save a wretch like me
I heard about His groaning
Of His precious blood's atoning
Then I repented of my sins
And won the victory

Verse 2
I heard about His healing
Of His cleansing pow'r revealing
How He made the lame to walk again
And caused the blind to see
And then I cried dear Jesus
Come and heal my broken spirit
And somehow Jesus came and brought
To me the victory

Verse 3
I heard about a mansion
He has built for me in glory
And I heard about the streets of gold
Beyond the crystal sea
About the angels singing
And the old redemption story
And some sweet day I'll sing up there
The song of victory

None like You

Chorus
Our God is greater
Our God is stronger
God You are higher than any other
Our God is healer
Awesome in power our God our God

And if our God is for us
Then who could ever stop us
And if our God is with us

Less Like Me
Expand
Verse 1
Oh I have days I lose the fight
Try my best but just don't get it right
Where I talk a talk that I don't walk
And miss the moments right before my eyes

Pre-Chorus
Somebody with a hurt that I could have helped
Somebody with a hand that I could have held
When I just can't see past myself
Lord help me be

Chorus
A little more like mercy
A little more like grace
A little more like kindness goodness love and faith
A little more like patience
A little more like peace
A little more like Jesus
A little less like me

Verse 2
Yeah there's no denying I have changed
I've been saved from who I used to be
But even at my best I must confess
I still need help to see the way You see

Bridge
Oh to feed the beggar on the street
Love to be Your hands and feet
Freely give what I receive
Lord help me be

I want to put You first above all else
Love my neighbor as myself
In the moments no one sees
Lord help me be

Ending
A little more I'm living
Everything I preach
A little more like Jesus
A little less like me

Verse 1
Walking around these walls
I thought by now they'd fall
But you have never failed me yet
Waiting for change to come
Knowing the battle's won
For you have never failed me yet

Chorus
Your promise still stands
Great is your faithfulness
Faithfulness
I'm still in your hands
This is my confidence
You've never failed me yet

Verse 2
I know the night won't last
Your word will come to pass
My heart will sing your praise again
Jesus you're still enough
Keep me within your love
My heart will sing your praise again

Bridge
I've seen you move
You move the mountains
And I believe
I'll see you do it again
You made a way
Where there was no way
And I believe
I'll see you do it again

Ending
You've never failed me yet
I never will forget
You've never failed me yet
I never will forget

Gratitude
Expand
Verse 1
All my words fall short
I got nothing new
How could I express
All my gratitude

Verse 2
I could sing these songs
As I often do
But every song must end
And You never do

Chorus
So I throw up my hands
And praise You again and again
‘Cause all that I have is a hallelujah hallelujah
And I know it’s not much
But I’ve nothing else fit for a king
Except for a heart singing hallelujah
Hallelujah

Verse 3
I’ve got one response
I’ve got just one move
With my arms stretched wide
I will worship You

Bridge
Come on my soul
Oh don’t you get shy on me
Lift up your song
‘Cause you’ve got a lion inside of those lungs
Get up and praise the Lord

Vital Connections: The Best Kind of Blessed
July 23, 2023
Acts 20:17-38

#Blessed

How are we best blessed?

Acts 19:8-11
Paul entered the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three months, arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God. But some of them became obstinate; they refused to believe and publicly maligned the Way. So Paul left them. He took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus. This went on for two years, so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord.
God did extraordinary miracles through Paul...

Acts 19:17-20
...the name of the Lord Jesus was held in high honor. Many of those who believed now came and openly confessed what they had done. A number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly. When they calculated the value of the scrolls, the total came to fifty thousand drachmas. In this way the word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power.

#Blessed

Acts 20:18-21
When they arrived, he said to them: “You know how I lived the whole time I was with you, from the first day I came into the province of Asia. I served the Lord with great humility and with tears and in the midst of severe testing by the plots of my Jewish opponents. You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house. I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.

Acts 20:22-23
“And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me.”

Acts 20:24
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

MINE!

Living to gather more and more for ourselves comes from a mindset of scarcity.

God desires us to live with a mindset of radical generosity.

John 10:10 NRSV
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”

Is my MINDSET a MINE-set or a KIND-set?

Acts 20:33-35
I have not coveted anyone’s silver or gold or clothing. You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions. In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”
