If you’ve been around our campus long enough, you’ve heard our Campus Pastor, Kent Wells ask, “Is your YES on the table for what God wants to do in your life?” That’s what this whole series is about. A life lived with a huge YES to God on the table is a life-well-lived.

1. If Jesus came to SERVE - why wouldn't we.
Matthew 20:20-28...
20 Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came up to him with her sons, and kneeling before him she asked him for something. 21 And He said to her, “What do you want?” She said to him, “Say that these two sons of mine are to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your kingdom.” 22 Jesus answered, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am to drink?” They said to Him, “We are able.” 23 He said to them, “You will drink my cup, but to sit at my right hand and at my left is not mine to grant, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared by my Father.” 24 And when the ten heard it, they were indignant at the two brothers. 25 But Jesus called them to Him and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. 26 It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, 28 even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”

"If serving is beneath you – leadership is beyond you! You won’t lead well if you can’t serve well. There must be an example of servant leadership before there is a trust in you as a leader. There are too many leaders who ask people to do things they aren’t willing to do themselves.”

2. A heart set on BEING like Jesus will always find a way to SERVE.
Luke 5:17-26...
17 On one of those days, as He was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with Him to heal. 18 And behold, some men were bringing on a bed a man who was paralyzed, and they were seeking to bring him in and lay him before Jesus, 19 but finding no way to bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down with his bed through the tiles into the midst before Jesus. 20 And when He saw their faith, He said, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.” 21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to question, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” 22 When Jesus perceived their thoughts, He answered them, “Why do you question in your hearts? 23 Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’? 24 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the man who was paralyzed—“I say to you, rise, pick up your bed and go home.” 25 And immediately he rose up before them and picked up what he had been lying on and went home, glorifying God. 26 And amazement seized them all, and they glorified God and were filled with awe, saying, “We have seen extraordinary things today.”

“Sometimes your faith, your love and your serve must stand in the gap for others with no faith and no ability to serve. It’s in those moments that you look more like your Savior than any other time. Serving others looks good on everyone.”

And He said to him, “Follow me.” 28 And leaving everything, he rose and followed Him. 29 And Levi made Him a great feast in his house, and there was a large company of tax collectors and others reclining at table with them. 30 And the Pharisees and their scribes grumbled at His disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” 31 And Jesus answered them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 32 I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.”

3. SERVING should not take the place of WORSHIP.
Luke 10:38-42...
38 Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to His teaching. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to Him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” 41 But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, 42 but One thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

Let’s make it our mission to SERVE…
- Ones who are not SAVED.
- Ones who don’t care to SERVE OTHERS yet.
- Ones who still dabbling in SIN.
- Ones who are not SAVED.

- Ones who still dabbling in SIN.
4. Your YES to serving will always lead others to SERVE here.
