Mourning and Comfort

Sadness is not seen in our culture as something that can lead to a life of happiness. Rather than embracing our brokenness because of sin, we often try to avoid the pain of grief and mourning by covering it up or by denying our feelings. But God tells us that mourning is a pathway that leads to a blessed and happy life. That through a life of confessing and repenting of our sin to God, we can expect to be forgiven and comforted by God. --- Many people desire to live a blessed life. What if God’s idea of the blessed life is totally different from the life you seek? In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus teaches about kingdom values that lead to happiness. When we choose to live and be shaped according to God’s kingdom values, we can surely experience the blessed life God promised us.
