BY FAITH WE HAVE SALVATION.
LIVING BY FAITH (IN SALVATION) MAKES US RIGHTEOUS.

Righteous(ness): right standing with God.
This leads to good works/deeds/action in our lives.

This is a one-way action.
Our good deeds in this life do not make us righteous, or save us, or impress God in any way.

EVIL WORLD.
GOD REGRETS HIS CREATION (it's no longer good).

BUT NOAH FINDS FAVOR WITH GOD.

Noah's reputation:
- righteous
- blameless
HOW???

BY FAITH WE HAVE SALVATION,

Noah is given instructions by God. Very specifically for the design, size, purpose, etc.

22: Noah did everything just as God commanded him.

5 And Noah did all that the LORD commanded him.

150 days = 5 months
END: 17th day of Seventh month
5+ months.

5 months so far. (17th day of 7th month)
+3 months: waters recede. Ark rests on mountains.
+40 days: Noah waiting to make sure.
Raven and dove.
+7 days: waiting until dove again. Returns with olive branch.
+7 days: release dove, it doesn't come back.
27th day of Second month: God commands them to come out of the ark.

OVER ONE YEAR!!!

BELIEVING IN FAITH = SALVATION
LIVING BY FAITH = RIGHTEOUSNESS

God promises never to destroy the earth and everything on it again.
PEOPLE ARE STILL EVIL.
EVERY INCLINATION OF YOUR HEART IS TOWARD EVIL.
BUT GOD'S GRACE IS GREATER!

RAINBOW: not a carebear/my little pony light show.
God has just destroyed the earth. He made war with sin.
NOW, he is hanging up his bow in the clouds, a sign that He won't do it again.
It's now pointed at HEAVEN. The next time, He'll use it on his SON.

NOAH: Man of FAITH. Still a sinner (drunk)

Of his 3 sons, one is cursed, two are blessed.
NOT BECAUSE OF THEIR ACTIONS.

Their actions reveal their faith (or lack thereof).
