The Story of Ruth & Naomi
Observation 1
There was a famine in the land, but with famine comes Opportunity
Famine is a signal of change and a chance for a new beginning

II Samuel 21:1

Emotional Famine: Emotional starvation occurs when a couple has allowed circumstances to bind them so tightly into responsibility roles that no time is available for intimate communication.

Psalms 37:19

Jeremiah 15:16

Ruth 1:6

Observation 2
Relationship
Difficult circumstances, yet, Grace made way
"Wherever you go, I'm going to go. Your people will become my people, and your God will become my God.
We need to invite each other into the challenge so we can support & celebrate each other's victories.
They both modelled women who challenged and championed each other in difficult circumstances.
Observation 3.
Renewal of mind- To truly understand God's purpose you need to disrupt your thinking.

Ruth 1:19-21

Naomi means “pleasant” or beautiful; Mara means “bitter.” Bitter refers to the intensity of suffering of mind and body.
Naomi said “Call me Mara ''. This is a choice.
The truth is, it was based on a wrong view of God.
God is aware of what is happening in your life.
God is involved in the day-to-day joys and hardships of our lives. What you may think are coincidences is God weaving together the circumstances and choices motivating us to make the right decisions that lead to restoration for us and our families.

Romans 10:9
