CONVERSATION STARTERS
Conversation Starters help us dig deeper, connecting Sunday’s sermons with our Monday lives. Please know that these questions are meant to be a resource. You do not have to follow them verbatim or get through them all. We trust you to know your group and to ask the questions based on your group needs.

1. What questions or hardships in your life have challenged your belief in God’s goodness and power?

2. Read John 20:24-31 silently or aloud.

3. Thomas stuck around for eight whole days even when he didn’t believe what the other disciples believed about Jesus’ resurrection. What keeps us in community with God’s people even when we have doubts?

4. What do we learn about Jesus in this passage?

5. What does this passage say about what it means for believers to follow Jesus as king?

6. How does this passage encourage and/or challenge you?

PRAYER PROMPT
Pray for one another as the questions, doubts, and wrestling arise, and allow the Holy Spirit to remind you of Jesus’ living presence among you even as you gather. Pray for those in our church community, whether guests or regulars, who are wrestling to believe that Jesus is who he says he is.

Prayer Requests

As a staff it is a privilege to pray for our congregation. Social distance does not change that! If you are in need of prayer click the link to fill out an online prayer request.

Title: Go in His Name
Scripture: Acts 1:1-11
Speaker: Tom Nelson, TomN@cckc.church
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit; Born of the Virgin Mary; Suffered under Pontius Pilate; Was crucified, dead and buried; He descended into Hell; The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven; And sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; The Holy Christian Church, the Communion of Saints; The Forgiveness of sins; The Resurrection of the body; And the life everlasting. Amen.
- The Apostles Creed.
> King Jesus is reigning now
“Jesus sits at the Father’s right hand–not to rest, but rule. The picture is not inactivity, but authority.” - J.I. Packer
> We now are in the time between.
> We now are called to be witnesses.
> Those who follow Jesus are sent by Jesus.
"Jesus calls his followers to “go into all the world’(Mark 16:15). This of course has long been interpreted geographically…but the Great Commission can also be interpreted in terms of sociological structure. The church is to go into all realms of social life:in volunteer and paid labor–skilled and unskilled labor, the crafts, engineering, commerce, art, law, architecture, teaching, health care, and service. Indeed, the church should be sending people out in these realms…” - Dr. James Hunter, To Change The World
> What does being sent look like in our Monday world?
- We are sent to be seen
- We are sent to be heard
- We are sent to love
