Who Do You Say That I Am? - Mary Magdalene
Easter 2023
Pastor Scott Borman

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise;
God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God
chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the
things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one
may boast before him.1 Cor. 1:27-29

Jesus is my _______________.

After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another,
proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were
with him, 2 and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits
and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons
had come out; 3 Joanna the wife of Chuza, the manager of
Herod’s household; Susanna; and many others. These women were
helping to support them out of their own means. Luke 8:1-3

Give us aid against the enemy, for human help is worthless. With
God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies.
Psalms 108:12,13

Therefore, he is able to save completely those who come to God
through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
Hebrews 7:25

Jesus is my ___________________.

Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary
the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. John 19:25

When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. 2 Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb 3 and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?” Mark 16:1-3

So, she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one
Jesus loved, and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb,
and we don’t know where they have put him!” John 20:2

Jesus is my Savior. Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher)”. John 20:16

Everyone’s faith journey starts running to the empty tomb. So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. 1 Cor.15:42-44

Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the
joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame,
and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2

Therefore, whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess
before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before
men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 10:32-33
