The RESURRECTION is what validates our Faith.
The name Gethsemane comes from two Hebrew words that mean, “A Place of Pressing or Crushing.”
“What had to be CRUSHED that night in the Garden?”
The WILL of Jesus.
Every one of us faces a daily battle to bring our Will, Desires, and Agenda into alignment with God’s Will, Desires, and Agenda!
“Father, is there ANY OTHER WAY? PLEASE take this Cup of Suffering from me.”
The most important prayer you and I will ever pray is “Not MY will, but YOURS be done!”
The HEART of Jesus wanted to do the Father's will, but His FLESH didn’t!
"NEVERTHELESS, regardless of my desires and feelings, NOT MY WILL, but YOURS be done!
“What desires, plans, and agendas in your life need to be CRUSHED for the sake of others?”
The temptation they faced was to DO THEIR WILL instead of GOD’S WILL.
1. CONFLICTING DESIRES
God is looking for a different outcome for our lives than we are.
He’s more interested in our IMPACT than our COMFORT!
Jesus calls us to take up the cross, die to self, and do what the Father wants not what we want.
John 4:34, “My meat, my food, my satisfaction is to do the WILL of the Father. Even if it means the CRUSHING of Gethsemane, even if it means GOING to the Cross, even if it means DYING to self.”
2. CONFLICTING EXPECTATIONS
They were looking for the “Lion of Judah” but what they got was the “Lamb of God!”
Mark 14:50 records that ALL the Disciples except John left Jesus and ran away from the Cross because it wasn’t what they had EXPECTED AND DESIRED.
3. CONFLICTING VOICES
You must CHOOSE by an act of YOUR WILL, which VOICE you’re going to SURRENDER to.
What made Easter work was the prayer NOT MY WILL, but YOURS BE DONE!
Jesus is asking you to SAY YES TO HIS WILL for the good of your mate and your children. For the good of the Kingdom.

Often times, God’s Plan and Path for our lives involves intense suffering like Jesus endured in the Garden and on the Cross.
