What Does Your Money Magnify?

Money magnifies:

1. What we believe about ourselves

A rich person is wise in his own eyes, but a poor one who has discernment sees through him. (Proverbs 28:11 CSB)

What is your money telling you about yourself? And what you value and prioritize?

2. The condition of our hearts

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; in all your ways know him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6 CSB)

Don’t be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and turn away from evil. This will be healing for your body and strengthening for your bones. Honor the Lord with your possessions and with the first produce of your entire harvest; then your barns will be completely filled, and your vats will overflow with new wine. (Proverbs 3:7-10 CSB)

Do not despise the Lord’s instruction, my son, and do not loathe his discipline; for the Lord disciplines the one he loves, just as a father disciplines the son in whom he delights. (Proverbs 3:11-12 CSB)

What is your money revealing about your heart? Who and what do you trust in?

3. The present

The wealth of the rich is his fortified city; in his imagination it is like a high wall. (Proverbs 18:11 CSB)

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are protected. (Proverbs 18:10 CSB)

Anyone trusting in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like foliage. (Proverbs 11:28 CSB)

Wealth is not profitable on a day of wrath, but righteousness rescues from death. (Proverbs 11:4 CSB)

When the wicked person dies, his expectation comes to nothing, and hope placed in wealth vanishes. (Proverbs 11:7 CSB)

The high-walled fortress will be brought down, thrown to the ground, to the dust. (Isaiah 25:12 CSB)

Where do you find safety and security? Is your focus on building up a strong fortified city and high walls for yourself? Or pointing to the real fortified and strong tower, King Jesus?
