Welcome to South! We're glad you joined us today. Below you will find some sermon notes and Bible passages, to help you follow along with Pastor Scott's message. We are getting back into the series "Exalting Jesus in Luke". We hope you will be encouraged by what is taught today.

Jesus attracted sinners, while the religious leaders repelled them. We see this time and time again throughout the gospels, that people who were far from having a relationship with God “drew near” or came to, Jesus. And why? Because he CARED for them and their ultimate need of being set free from their enslavement to the power and penalty of sin in their lives.

The religious leaders were both shocked and appalled that Jesus would actually form friendships with the sinners, tax collectors, sick and diseased, that he had invited to be a part of the banquet. There was absolutely NO CARE in the hearts of these religious leaders concerning those who were lost and far from God, in their midst. Instead there was only anger.

This parable involves rebellion, repentance, and eventually, rejoicing.

1) They are out of place. God created mankind with a need for relationship with Him.

2) They aren't able to fulfill their purpose. 1 Corinthians 10:31 - he says, “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

3) They are valuable.
