Lostness, Looking, Finding, Restoring, & Rejoicing
1. God is concerned with lostness, therefore we must be concerned with lostness.
Luke 19:10
“The Son of Man has come to seek and save that which was lost.”
Luke 19:10
“The Son of Man has come to seek and save that which was lost.”
2. Our attitude towards lostness will determine our willingness to leave the comfort and convenience of where we are to meet them where they are.
1 Corinthians 9:19-22
For though I am free from all men, I have made myself servant to all, that I might win the more. To the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews, to those under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law, to those who are without the law, that I might win those who are without the law, to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak, I have become all things to all men that I by all means save some.
3. We cannot expect people who are disconnected from God to somehow find their way to God.
Romans 10:13-14
Whoever calls on the name of the Lord, shall be saved. But how can they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him, whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear, unless someone tells them?
Romans 10:13-14
Whoever calls on the name of the Lord, shall be saved. But how can they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him, whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear, unless someone tells them?
4. Do not assume that being in the house equates to not being lost.
5. Being “Prodigal” has nothing to do with wandering.
6. We must celebrate what heaven celebrates.
Psalm 34:1-3
I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exhalt His name together.
Psalm 34:1-3
I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exhalt His name together.
