February 26, 2022 / Finding God In Chaos / Whether Chaos Abounds or Ends...Worship

CHAOS has always been a biproduct of a choice made without regard for God or the consequences of that choice. We still live inside of that chaos today. Some chaos is brought on by outside forces and things outside of our control. But, can we be honest to say that a lot of our CHAOS – we bring it on ourselves? Even in the CHAOS of life, God still allows us amazing moments where we see Him through it. Follow along with our Campus Pastor, Kent Wells.

CHAOS...
- A state of utter confusion or disorder
1. In you CHAOS...don't forget who holds the STORM in His hands.

Genesis 7:16-17...
16 And the Lord shut him in. 17 The flood continued forty days on the earth.
“While in the storms of life, it’s easy to forget that the storm doesn’t have you like God has you. Why? Because the waves are too big, the breaths in between are too short, and depths are too deep at times. The storms only prevail if God allows the storms to prevail.”
TRUTH is...
- storms come into our lives so our faith can grow.
2. In your CHAOS...God knows you - He remembers right where you are.

Genesis 8:1...
But God remembered Noah...

- So, God moved to him, provided a way for him and saw him through it.
Genesis 8:10-12...
10 He waited another seven days, and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark. 11 And the dove came back to him in the evening, and behold, in her mouth was a freshly plucked olive leaf. So Noah knew that the waters had subsided from the earth. 12 Then he waited another seven days and sent forth the dove, and she did not return to him anymore.

A great picture here...no real light, no real hope until 40 days.

At the end of the 40 days, he opened the window and sent a raven and then a dove.
3. In your CHAOS...Obedience has everything to do with God's timing.

Genesis 8:15-18...
15 Then God said to Noah, 16 “Go out from the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons' wives with you. 17 Bring out with you every living thing that is with you of all flesh—birds and animals and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth—that they may swarm on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.” 18 So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives with him.
Genesis 8:19...
Every beast, every creeping thing, and every bird, everything that moves on the earth, went out by families from the ark.
4. Whether CHAOS abounds or ends - worship God.

Genesis 8:20-22...
20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And when the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma, the Lord said in his heart, “I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the intention of man's heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done. 22 While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.”

Noah’s obedience got him on the boat.
His gratefulness led him out of the boat.
Gratefulness always opens the door for authentic worship.
