NOT ENOUGH
Week 4
“Revive Us Again”

This Psalm is a recognition by the people that what they had was NOT ENOUGH to fix the problem!

Is this REALLY A REVIVAL?

1. WHAT IS REVIVAL?

It designates a life changing shift or awakening in one’s attitudes, behaviors, and values.

A shift in Attitudes and Values produces changed Behavior!

You can’t REVIVE something that’s NEVER been ALIVE.

The fruit of REVIVAL is transformation in the community!

A TRUE REVIVAL PRODUCES CHANGED LIVES.

The First Great Awakening in America occurred from 1730-1740

That would be 50 million people!

The Second Great Awakening in America started in the 1790s and lasted until 1835.

The Third Great Awakening began in 1857

In 1904 the Welsh Revival hit in Wales, England led by Evan Roberts

In 1949 Revival hit the Hebrides islands off the coast of Scotland in the town of Barvas.

The Azusa Street Revival began in 1906

In the late 60s and early 70s you had the Jesus Revolution or Jesus Movement Revival

Asbury has been a Presence Revival.

The measure of Revival comes down to one thing…FRUIT

2. WHAT ARE THE MARKS OF REVIVAL?

1. There is an Awareness of Our Present Condition and Recognition of Our Need for God

2. There is Repentance and an Emphasis on Purity and Holiness

3. There is a Humility Present.

4. The Community becomes God Conscious

5. There is Personal and Societal Transformation

6. It’s Always Jesus Centered.

7. It Produces a Love and Passion for Jesus and People

8. It Produces a Concern for the Marginalized and Those in Need (Justice).

9. It Produces a Hunger and Reverence for God’s Word!

10. It Produces Change in the Church.

GOD WILL NOT BE PUT IN A BOX!

3. WHAT FACTORS PRODUCE REVIVAL?

1. Discontent.

2. Hunger.

3. Expectancy.

4. Prayer and a Willingness to Wait

How much time are we willing to give to seeking God for Revival?
