When was a time when you felt doubtful in your faith to some degree? Did you confide in anyone about this? What was their response? How did that make you feel?
What do the words “disbelief” and “doubt” mean to you? How do they differ?
Pastor Jonathan shared with us 3 common causes of doubt: don’t know, don’t understand or don’t like/agree. What are some examples of these that you have experienced in your life?
Read Mark 9:22-24. How does this verse show belief and unbelief coexisting?
Read Matthew 28:16-17. Has there ever been a time when you have doubted something that was standing right in front of you? Why do you think you were in doubt even though the answer was right there?
Doubt is a normal part of a growing faith. How has this been true in your life?
Pastor Jonathan shared a few tips about what to do in the doubt. Take some time and go through his suggestions and pray that God reveals how to approach them when you are in the midst of doubt.
- Ask questions- better to ask than to keep doubting
- Learn, change, group- this is a sign of maturity
- Trust- the more you do it, the better you'll get at it
- Keep on Truckin'- in spite of doubt, journey on
