Introduction:
Today we continue with our series Purposeful Family. One of the prophetic messages that God has really emphasized for the now is that the strategy for widespread revival would be when we re-established family altars, intentional family devotionals.
Things look bleak. Great sectors of our society are enslaved by anxiety and depression, pornography, division, anger, violence, broken families. Our schools are teaching materials that go directly against the word of God. Look at the media being produced – Satanic half-time shows (Rihanna threw the Illuminati triangle symbol), the Grammy’s.
But you have to remember that God brought out an entire nation enslaved in Egypt. To to this, go into your homes, apply the blood of the lamb to your doors, and have a meal together. And the angel of the Lord came passed them by.
Exodus 12:1-3 NIV – “The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, “This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year. Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household."
You will be hidden for some time, centered on the sacrifice of spotless lamb, you will eat of it and your family will be spared from judgement and you will be delivered from your slavery.
Could it be this simple? God is saying if we will commit ourselves to having family altars, I will bring transformation to your family and your community, even as darkness seems so thick. If we will huddle around our home as families or even groups of families and center on what Jesus did, then God will judge our enemy, and we will begin to push back the darkness.
I am calling this message – Restoring the Family Altar.
