It’s week three of our study “The Counselor.” We know the Holy Spirit is our counselor and the Spirit of truth who walks with us. We also hear that the Holy Spirit gives us power. But how? What does the Holy Spirit empower us to do? Join us this Sunday as Pastor Marty defines three ways the Spirit gives us power.
Truly I tell you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do. And he will do even greater works than these because I am going to the Father.
So I discover this law: When I want to do what is good, evil is present with me. For in my inner self I delight in God’s law, but I see a different law in the parts of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and taking me prisoner to the law of sin in the parts of my body. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus, 2 because the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death."
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
