There's Nothing That Our God Can't Do

Verse 1
Just one word
You calm the storm that surrounds me
Just one word
The darkness has to retreat
Just one touch
I feel the presence of heaven
Just one touch
My eyes were opened to see
My heart can't help but believe

Chorus 1
There's nothing that our God can't do
There's not a mountain that He can't move
Oh praise the name that makes a way
There's nothing that our God can't do

Verse 2
Just one word
You heal what's broken inside me
Just one word
And you revive ev'ry dream
Just one touch
I feel the power of heaven
Just one touch
My eyes were opened to see
My heart can't help but believe

Chorus 2
There's nothing that our God can't do
There's not a mountain that He can't move
Oh praise the name that makes a way
There's nothing that our God can't do

There's nothing that our God can't do
There's not a prison wall He can't break through
Oh praise the name that makes a way
There's nothing that our God can't do

Bridge
I will believe for greater things
There's no power like the power of Jesus
Let faith arise let all agree
There’s no power like the power of Jesus

Bridge
I will believe for greater things
There's no power like the power of Jesus
Let faith arise let all agree
There's no power like His power

Ending
Oh sing oh oh oh
There's nothing there's nothing
There's nothing there's nothing
Oh oh oh
(There's nothing that our God can't do)

Victory In Jesus

Chorus
O victory in Jesus
My Savior forever
He sought me and bought me
With His redeeming blood
He loved me ere I knew Him
And all my love is due Him
He plunged me to victory
Beneath the cleansing flood

Verse 1
I heard an old old story
How a Savior came from glory
How He gave His life on Calvary
To save a wretch like me
I heard about His groaning
Of His precious blood's atoning
Then I repented of my sins
And won the victory

Verse 2
I heard about His healing
Of His cleansing pow'r revealing
How He made the lame to walk again
And caused the blind to see
And then I cried dear Jesus
Come and heal my broken spirit
And somehow Jesus came and brought
To me the victory

Verse 3
I heard about a mansion
He has built for me in glory
And I heard about the streets of gold
Beyond the crystal sea
About the angels singing
And the old redemption story
And some sweet day I'll sing up there
The song of victory

Make Room

Verse
Here is where I lay it down
Every burden every crown
This is my surrender
This is my surrender
Here is where I lay it down
Every lie and every doubt
This is my surrender

Chorus
And I will make room for you
To do whatever you want to
To do whatever you want to
And I will make room for you
To do whatever you want to
To do whatever you want to

Bridge
Shake up the ground of all my tradition
Break down the walls of all my religion
Your way is better
Your way is better

Ending
Here is where I lay it down
You are all I'm chasing now
This is my surrender

Cornerstone

Verse 1
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus' Name
(REPEAT)

Chorus
Christ alone cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Saviour's love
Through the storm He is Lord
Lord of all

Verse 2
When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
My anchor holds within the veil
Interlude
He is Lord Lord of all

Verse 3
When He shall come with trumpet sound
Oh may I then in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone
Faultless stand before the throne

Sermon Notes

Where Do We Grow From Here: Grow Wider
1 Corinthians 9:19-23; Acts 10
January 15, 2023

GROW WIDER

GROW WIDER
We need to creatively let the gospel out of the box.

1 Corinthians 9:19-22
Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak.

I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.

Acts 17:16-17
Paul… was greatly distressed to see that the city was full of idols. So he reasoned in the synagogue with both Jews and God-fearing Greeks, as well as in the marketplace day by day with those who happened to be there.

Acts 17:21
All the Athenians and the foreigners who lived there spent their time doing nothing but talking about and listening to the latest ideas.

Grow Wider
How do we become more creative in spreading the gospel?

Grow Wider
“Church leaders are not willing to take a hard look at what blocks their capacity to be missional.”
– Alan Hirsh

Grow Wider
“There are people who have no knowledge of our traditions or any respect for our artifacts, but they have a thirst that can only be quenched by our God.”
– Cheryl Sanders

Grow Wider
“Some churches operate in one person's comfort zone -- and for some, the person isn't even there anymore! One person's comfort zone can be another's desert.”
– Cheryl Sanders

Grow Wider
When we name something sacred that God doesn’t name sacred we put the mission at risk.

Grow Wider
What blocks our capacity to be missional?

Grow Wider
“We begin with the assumption that everybody is already interested, engaged, and informed. That’s fine for churches designed for church people. It is not fine for churches committed to engaging the hearts and minds of the unchurched.”
– Andy Stanley

Grow Wider
What will we do about space?

Grow Wider
Come Early, Park Far, Sit Close, Squeeze In

Called Me Higher

Verse 1
I could just sit I could just sit
And wait for all Your goodness
Hope to feel Your presence
And I could just stay I could just stay
Right where I am and hope to feel You
Hope to feel something again

Verse 2
I could hold on I could hold on
To who I am and never let You
Change me from the inside
I could be safe oh I could be safe
Here in Your arms and never leave home
Never let these walls down

Chorus 1
But You have called me higher
You have called me deeper
And I'll go where You will lead me Lord
You have called me higher
You have called me deeper
And I'll go where You will lead me Lord
Where You lead me

Interlude
Where You lead me Lord

Bridge
I will be Yours oh
I will be Yours for all my life
I will be Yours oh
I will be Yours for all my life
I will be Yours oh
I will be Yours for all my life
So let Your mercy
Oh I will be Yours Lord
And I will be Yours for all my life
So let Your mercy
Light the path before me

Chorus 2
(Oh) 'Cause You have called me higher
You have called me deeper
And I'll go where You will lead me Lord
Oh 'cause You have called me higher
You have called me deeper
And I'll go where You will lead me Lord

Ending
Where You lead me
Where You lead me Lord
Where You lead me
Where You lead me Lord
