Heartland Community Church
Sunday Worship October 7, 2018
Grace is foundational to our faith, yet one of the hardest things to wrap our heads around. It’s free, but costly. It’s the only path to life, but means dying. It’s for those who aren’t perfect and those who think they are. It’s extended to everyone, but only accepted by a few. It’s amazing and the best news ever, but we make it messy. Join us as we take a deep dive into God’s grace and the mess we make of it the next four weeks as we remember that grace is for everyone, grace is always loving, grace is always true, and that grace is for you.

Please pray for continued healing for each of these individuals.

John Harris has dialysis for four hours, three afternoons a week. Praise that he seems to be doing well with it. Please pray that his counts continue to improve.

Kay Savage had some tears in her retina repaired a couple of weeks ago. Please pray that her eyes continue to heal and improve.

Please pray for Aaliyah Akins. She broke her leg a couple of weeks ago and has been in a wheelchair so she stays off her leg, which is hard for a four-year-old.

Allen Ater has a prolapsed mitral valve and needs to have it repaired. He sees his doctor tomorrow. Please pray for wisdom and wellness, and for Allen’s level of energy to be increased and restored.

Carole Harris will start chemo this Tuesday, October 9th. Please pray that the treatments are effective and that she will have little to no side effects.

Please pray for Jenni Wittig, that the side effects from the treatment and her other meds will be minimal. Pray for healing.

Alan Schneweis, Richard Schneweis’ brother, is home and is on hospice care. Please pray for his peace and comfort, and for all of Alan’s family. There is a praise in all of this. Alan & Susan's first grandchild, Drew Alan Grosshuesch was born on October 1st. This is an answer to prayers as they had prayed that Alan would be here to meet his namesake.

Sermon Notes & Scripture
"Messy Grace: Grace is for Everyone"
Pastor Matt Schaffner
God extends His grace to us purposefully and meets us wherever we are.
Grace is for everyone, no matter where they are.
God extends His grace to us compassionately and meets us in our mess.
Grace is for everyone, no matter who they are or have been.
God extends His grace to us in spirit and truth and cuts through our chaos.
Grace is for everyone, no matter how confused their beliefs might be.
God extends His grace to us to strengthen us for His mission.
Grace is for everyone, given so we can share it!
Monday is coming!
What happens Sunday is only as meaningful as what you do with it the rest of the week. This week dig into the truth of God's Word and see what grace is and freely offer it to everyone you possibly can- knowing that those "chance" meetings are God's nudging to share His great grace! Jesus sought to seek and save everyone He could, are you following in His footsteps?
