Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
And New Years is a time when we as a people tend to want to examine our life and set goals / and that is actually a very biblical exercise.
Haggai 1: 5 Now this is what the Lord Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways. 6 You have planted much, but harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it.” 7 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways.
Lamentations 3: 40 Let us search out and examine our ways,and turn back to the Lord;41 Let us lift our hearts and handsTo God in heaven.
2 Corinthians 13: 5 Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless of course, you fail the test.
Galatians 6: 4 Each person should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves. They won’t be comparing themselves to someone else. 5 Each person should carry their own load.
Don’t be concerned with what everybody else is doing or not doing… God is concerned about you! He loves you…and wants you to be successful!
We should consider our ways daily, not annually!
Brian Tracy, explains that life is like an airplane journey. From the time you take off, you will be off course 90% of the time. All airplanes are off course over 90% of the time.
Listen, if you only examine your life once a year… by the time you realize you are off course, you are way off… But if you daily examine it… you can make subtle adjustments and stay on track to your desired destination!
Small things, if not corrected, become big things.

3. PRAYER AND MEDITATION TO INCREASE EFFECTIVENESS.

“People may spend their whole lives climbing the ladder of success only to find, once they reach the top, that the ladder is leaning against the wrong wall.” ~ Thomas Merton
The more time we spend with God, the more we will hear His plans and intentions for our life. ~ Richard Crisco
His intentions for us are good!
Jeremiah 29: 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

4. MOVE TOWARD YOUR GOALS EVERY DAY.
Lamentations 3: 21 But here is something else I remember. And it gives me hope. 22 The Lord loves us very much. So we haven’t been completely destroyed. His loving concern never fails. 23 His great love is new every morning. Lord, how faithful you are!
