Names are also the foundation for reputation, and our whole reputation can be shaped, inspired or recalled by the speaking of one's name.

The central truth about names is that they are both symbolic and significant. They tell us who we are. They identify our allegiance.

The name Mighty God reveals that Jesus is God with us and has unlimited power for us as we encounter the demands of life.

BIG IDEA:
As people made alive by Jesus we are called to be change agents who make the world thrive.

Jesus as Mighty God and God with us is represented by three intimately connected names :

Through Jesus God becomes one of us to be with us and for us.

Jesus as mighty God enters our mess to give us unlimited power for all of life's demands.

Jesus as "God With Us" means He is our sympathetic helper.

Jesus as "God With Us" bridges the relational gap between us and God The Father.

Mighty God is a reference to Jesus as the One who saves or redeems.

Jesus as Mighty God (God With Us) delivers the great message that we are loved.
