Welcome to this second Sunday of Advent! Advent is a season of great anticipation and holy expectation—a time for us to focus and refocus on the true heart of Christmas. Today we remember God’s gift of peace as we look to that first birth announcement given so many years ago . . . an announcement delivered to shepherds, of all people. Praise God for His offer of peace to ALL mankind!

Christmas Poinsettia Orders Are Due Today: We are taking orders for Christmas Poinsettias in honor or memory of your loved one/s at $9 each. Envelope order forms are available at a Resource Center and can be placed in a Giving and Connection Station by Sunday, December 4th.
Church Photo Directory: If you had your picture taken for the church photo directory, you may pick up your copy in the E3 Sanctuary Lobby. Please note that the company only offers church photo directories for those that had their picture taken and placed in the directory.
Ladies Fellowship: Thursday, Dec. 8th, 11:30 a.m. Multipurpose Room, Use door E3. A complimentary baked potato bar with all the toppings will be provided. Please sign up in a Resource Center. If you are able to make a handcrafted gift or purchase one in the $5-$10 range, please wrap it and bring it. We will have extra wrapped gifts if you are not able.
Bethlehem: A Live Walk Through Village Experience: Friday, December 9 through Sunday, December 11. 6:00-9:00 p.m. Evangelical Tabernacle, 216 N Main St., Cooperstown, PA.
Free Christmas Gift Wrapping Being Offered For You: Do you find yourself saying, “If only someone could wrap for me!”? Well come be blessed.We have a team that loves to wrap gifts.
· Saturday, December 10, 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
· Drop your gifts off that you would like to have wrapped in room 102. You may bring your own wrapping paper if desired. Enter at E3.
· Wrapped gifts are to be picked up the next day, Sunday, December 11, in Room 102, immediately after 3rd service.
Christmas Blessing Tree: Our Christmas Blessing Tree is adorned with tags with gift ideas for our church family children, residents at Sugar Valley Lodge, students at Victory School and French Creek Recovery Center.
1. Take a numbered tag:
> Pink rectangle tags are for adult females at Sugar Valley Lodge.
> Blue rectangle tags are for adult males at Sugar Valley Lodge.
> Yellow angel-shaped tags are for girls from Atlantic Avenue Church families.
> Green Christmas tree-shaped tags are for boys from Atlantic Avenue Church families.
> Salmon ornament-shaped tags are for adults at Frenchcreek Recovery (These gifts need to be returned to us unwrapped).
2. Print your name beside your tag number on our form.
3. Return your wrapped gifts and tag by Sunday, December 11.
(You could even drop them off Saturday morning to be wrapped for the Christmas gift-wrapping event and be blessed while being a blessing).
Keeping Our Military In Prayer: Please come to a Resource Center and write down the name and branch of anyone serving in the military, even if you already gave the name last year. We are making new Military Prayer Cards so that our church and prayer team can pray for those who serve our country. Deadline is Dec. 11
Girl’s Night Out: Thursday, December 15 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. in the Family Center. Please knock at the kitchen door for entry. Ham and scalloped potatoes will be provided. Please bring a dish to share and a wrapped pair of ladies Christmas socks for a game. Please sign up in a Resource Center.
